Terms
These are the rules for using this site. The arrangement is simple: we publish essays and you read them.
Read it, argue with it, quote it. Just don’t pass it off as yours.
- Read, link to, quote and share anything we publish. None of that needs our permission.
- Don’t republish a piece in full, sell it, or feed it to a service that presents it as its own work.
- Don’t attack the site — no scraping heavy enough to degrade it for other readers, no probing for parts of it that are not public, and nothing that uses it to distribute malware.
Each piece belongs to the person who wrote it. The name, the mark, the design and everything else standing around the writing belong to 37 Cents.
Quoting us is encouraged. Take an excerpt, credit the writer and the magazine, and link back to the piece. Reproducing something whole needs permission from us and from its author, which is usually a short email away.
The magazine exists to take positions. Everything here is the opinion of the person whose name is on it, and none of it is legal, financial, medical or professional advice.
We correct errors of fact when we find them or when they are pointed out. Corrections are printed at the head of the piece they belong to rather than quietly folded into the text.
We may revise these terms. The date at the foot of the page says when they last moved, and using the site after that date means accepting the version you find there.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California. Any dispute arising from them belongs in the state or federal courts of Alameda County, California.
Questions about any of this go to hello@37centsmag.com.
